Weird Al, eat you heart out

I'm trying to go into this 3 day weekend alone without feeling utterly depressed, but it is not going well. To pep myself up I tried singing while I drove to the store (my car radio stopped working:()Some people who have lived with me may be aware of my habit of singing about just about anything I'm doing, if I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing. Like..."mayonnaise and mustard buster buster buster" while looking in the fridge. My song of the day is to the tune of Madonna's "Like a Virgin." It went something like this:

I'm so grouchy
Hating this
And wishing I wasn't alone

I'm so bitchy
no fun at all
wish this weekend were over

This just sucks, yes it does
I can't sing, and I cannot write
but I still go on
and there goes someone in the Prius I want

It may sound like I'm being negative, but the silliness of singing it made me more chipper.

What started it all


This is from the email that gave me the idea of spreading some cheer instead of the gripes I feel a bit more gabby about. I generally don't support chain emails, but this one made me happy. I even forwarded it against my own rules of squashing all chain emails everywhere. If Maya Angelou can't give you a bit of hope in humanity and your own life I don't know what can!

No wonder this woman is loved so much. Just read the following:

Don't break the elastic! In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was 'exciting.' Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day...like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first.

The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!
Maya Angelou said this:

'I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.'
'I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.'

If you don't...the elastic will break and your underpants will fall down around your ankles! Believe me, I didn't take any chances on MY elastic breaking.... I sent it to a lot of special women I care for.
